i lost my pen

i lost my pen

A Poem by Salar Majak

I lost my pen
my little pen of blue
i lost my pen
maybe this is nothing to you

creepy thoughts
roam in my head
about what they'll do
if they find my friend

my little gadget
of mental crimes
my little partner
in felonies of mind

Oh boy i wonder
what they will do
when they find my pen
and capture me too.

they'll send me to
an insanity asylum
they'll lock me up
in a silent room

for the souls I've killed
on a piece of paper
for the blood stained spots
as a signature he made them

my madness lies
within its ink
and my soul smiles
in madness it sinks

i lost my pen
my little pen of blue
i lost my pen
Oh, what should i do?

The pen is innocent, it won't break under interrogation. It won't tell lies, it won't grass on you, your secrets are safe. You alone can decipher what the ink will write. You alone can make it talk. I like therelationship you have with your pen, your writing is the marriage between you and your papermate. You are not going mad!

Could use some proofreading. Definitely a great poem, I think everyone on this website could relate to it. A good example of a writer's relationship with the tools of their craft.

Truly from the point of view of a writer. We all have those insane moments on paper...it's because we are creative.

Very clever and catching. The theme is all too true, the instruments used to put our thoughts into permanence become an extension of ourselves and somehow (hoever much in humor) they share in the conspiracy of our words. I really liked this for its originality and basic appeal.

my madness lies within its ink. Love this line! I think all writers have to have a screw loose, at least partially, at any rate. (asylem? spell check please. this is too good to have spelling mistakes. trust me, it does matter!) :D

thank you alot, and i will check it :)
at first reading this poem one automatically thinks, "oh how adorable" but then you really scratch beneath the surface, and reveal a powerfully pensive poem:

Oh boy i wonder
what they will do
when they find my pen
and capture me too.
they'll send me to
an insanity asylem
they'll lock me up
in a silent room

for the souls i've killed
on a peice of paper
for the staind spots
as a signature he made them

my madness lies
within its ink
and my soul cries
in tears it sinks

--- brilliantly conveyed how if one's unable to write they will indeed descend down into madness (my take on it, personally, of course, i'm probably wrong)
either way, excellent poem, pen on :)
