Tornado

Tornado

A Poem by Becca
"

I was inspired to write this by a story my biology teacher told during class. Hope you guys like it.

"
From a distance,
I saw Him coming.
He being the big ol' tornado.
I wasn't filled with fear,
But with excitement.
He was a nasty one.
Bringing big ol' wind along with him.
I laughed as I watched from a distance.
As He tore apart houses,
And took away anything it could touch.
I waited for it to touch me.
Reach me.
I dared Him.
Laughed at Him.
I closed my eyes as He drew near,
Let my arms spread wide
And flew in His wake.
I was laughing,
Filled with joy.
Who knew where I was going to land.
I didn't care

This is quite nice. I like that each line is short, it keeps a momentum as such to the piece. But what I thought was interesting was your use of the capital letters when you mentioned 'Him' or 'He.' It gave me the vibe that it might have been a little more than a tornado. At first I thought maybe it could have been a God of some sorts and then maybe even a person who is like a tornado for the narrator. But I'm still not sure - it could just be a tornado. :) Either way, it's nicely done that it makes a reader think. :)

I'm 23 and I write poems to keep me sane. Poems are my way of getting out how I feel. When I'm upset, I tend to write more. But there are times where I will get randomly inspired and write something c.. more..
