Letter Written by a BirdA Story by BeccaIn class we read the nursery rhyme: Sing a Song of Sixpence. The assignment was to create a letter or short story about the nursery rhyme.
Dear Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals,
I am a black bird and I am writing to you because I find it cruel what my fellow black birds went through. They were baked in a pile. Do you how cruel that is? To make it worse they were baked alive and when the pie was cut open, they were STILL alive. You see my dilemma? They were baked alive and for who knows how long! I'm telling you people, that you need to do something about the king and his blackbird pies. Yes, I said the king. His chef cooked us for him. A total of twenty-four black birds were baked in that pie, and none of us want to do it again. Help save the blackbirds from cruelty by the king and his chef. We are to stay far away from the kingdom and out of their reach. If you do not do anything about this we will personally attack, not just the king and all of his workers, but the villagers and your society too! Black birds do not need this torture any longer. As a fellow black bird who went through that cruelty, I speak for everyone. Do something about this. I'm warning you! Sincerely, A very angry and revengeful black bird.
