FearA Poem by Becca
In the dark,
I sit and wait. Waiting for the terrors to begin. Screams and cries. All through the night. I can't sleep. In fear of the nightmares to comes. It's always the same, A dark figure, looming in the shadows. As I walk in a gloomy alley, He comes closer, following quickly. I begin to run, fear taking over. A voice stops me. "It's okay, he won't get you." But the voice lies. I'm trapped against three brick walls. No where to go but back. The figure, so tall and dark, Steps into the light. And I'm shocked to see who it is. A fellow neighbor, revealed to be my stalker. He comes up to me, A knife in hand, And lunges at me. I wake up, covered in sweat. This is the reason, I wait 'til morning. The dark brings a reoccurring fear. One that I can't quite shake.
