Forbidden Young Love

Forbidden Young Love

A Poem by Becca

At the age of eighteen,
I fell in love with the most amazing guy.
Who was fourteen.
A year later,
Another year older,
And we're both still in love with each other.
But we can't legally be together.
Due to the law and our age.
Which is why I will wait.
For however long it takes.
He stole my heart.
And I stole his.
Not on purpose, but by chance.
So as the years go on,
We will be strong.
We will be friends for as long as the law allows.
When the time comes,
We will be where we need to be.
Wherever that may be.
If that short times leads us into each others arms,
Then we were meant to be from the moment we fell.
But if not, we shall stay friends.
Know, I will never stop loving him.
Never stop fighting for him.
But when it comes to the law,
I have to stand back,
Just for a bit.
It's unfair to young lovers,
All across the world.
Who fall in love,
But have that one silly law,
Stopping them from what could be.
But when the time comes,
We will land where we are meant to be.

I'm 23 and I write poems to keep me sane. Poems are my way of getting out how I feel. When I'm upset, I tend to write more. But there are times where I will get randomly inspired and write something c.. more..
