Should Have Known

Should Have Known

A Poem by Becca

I should have known.
That I really didn't mean anything to you.
I should have known.
That when I said you could have anyone,
You really could.
So I'm the only one now,
That's suffering in pain.
Who is crying over what can't be no more.
I never expected you to
Actually find someone so close to your home.
This is what I get,
For falling in love with a West Virginia boy.
Who is too far from me.
A stupid, idiotic, New Yorker.
That's what I am.
I should have known,
That long distance relationships,
Are always a fail and will leave one broken in half.
So as I work to get you out of my heart,
Out of my head,
You probably already have moved on.
Moved on for the better.
I should have known,
That a West Virginia boy like you,
Would never want a New Yorker like me...

About
I'm 23 and I write poems to keep me sane. Poems are my way of getting out how I feel. When I'm upset, I tend to write more. But there are times where I will get randomly inspired and write something c.. more..
