The Let Go

The Let Go

A Chapter by Becca

It's near the end of the school year.
Summer is here.
My grades have slipped dramatically.
But I'm still able to graduate.

I was able to get a well paying job,
Part time of course.
Was able to pay for our bills,
Put some kind of food in the house.

Dad won't slow down on the drinking.
And I told him he needs to get a job,
Because I will NOT support that habit.
He keeps getting worse though.

If it's not the drinking, its the drugs.
Some heavy stuff have been brought into our home.
And I refuse to watch him do that.
All of my time has been spent at school,

Or work, or sleeping.
I stopped cleaning up.
There was no point.
Until I met some of my father's friends.

I decided to just let everything go,
Forget what he does to me.
I started to act like him.
Father seemed to approved.

And once these two weeks fly by,
And school is over...
Who knows what will happen.
It''s time to just cave into my father's demands.

About
I'm 23 and I write poems to keep me sane. Poems are my way of getting out how I feel. When I'm upset, I tend to write more. But there are times where I will get randomly inspired and write something c.. more..
