Awake With Thoughts Of You

I lay awake at night,

With a flood of thoughts.

A hint of rosy red upon my cheeks.

Thinking of you.

It's hard to sleep

Without trying to wrap my arms

Around the ghost of you.

As thoughts flow by,

I get flustered,

More than I have ever been.

As I lay curled up in this ball,

I slowly let those tears loose.

They stream down my face,

Damping the slight blush already cascaded upon me.

You are all I think of.

Our future.

My desire to be in your arms.

To finally be where I belong.

A smile creeps upon my face,

Big and unbelievably bright,

Every time I flash to a thought of you.

My heart yearns for your love.

Begging to hear your voice,

To see your smile,

To be where we both know I belong.

So as I lay here,

Wide awake,

Thinking of you, 

Of us,

I can't help but hope

And shed tears,

As I long for that moment

Where we can be together,

And live a life full of wonder, of love.

I smile as I write this,

Knowing that this will mean everything,

To me, to you, every time this is read.
