Applications

Applications

A Poem by Becca

There are many times in life
Where you have to fill out applications.
For school, jobs, volunteering.
Applications are a part of life.
Yet when applying for jobs,
You have to fill out so many
With the possibility of not getting it.
What if you don't have experience?
Never had a job in your life?
Nowadays, companies expect you
To have some sort of experience.
What sucks about it,
Is that after filling out so many
And getting denied every time,
You start to give up hope.
Start to think how am I supposed to live?
What am I going to do with life?
Well, I'm in that boat right now.
I'm starting to think that I might be a failure.
Well, I'm no where near close to being a failure.
I just have no idea what to do,
If I can't even get a simple job at a fast food restaurant.
I don't know what I want to do with my life.
If I go to college, what am I going to do?
And with the degree I get,
What am I supposed to do with that?
'I'm at the point where I say forget the applications
And just live under a rock.
I have no idea what to do anymore....

About
I'm 23 and I write poems to keep me sane. Poems are my way of getting out how I feel. When I'm upset, I tend to write more. But there are times where I will get randomly inspired and write something c.. more..
