Scattered DaisyA Poem by Harley"Unharmed daisy will suffer my abuse."I picked a daisy in your name today. Twirled it between my fingers as the sky melted into gray.
Those same fingers you held so gently. Now feel useless, lost, and empty. I've decided to put them to use. This unharmed daisy will suffer my abuse. Between those fingers so delicate and sweet. I grip a petal, not missing a beat. Slight tug, and then I stop. A single petal, he loves me not. And then once more my treachery. This daisy once whole, now seems so weak. The final petal and then I see. This stupid daisy, says he loves me. But flowers know nothing of the heart. Naive creature, like me in the start. Scattered petals and a broken stem. Didn't help my heart to mend. © 2010 HarleyReviews
