Her.

Her.

A Poem by Amber Miller

Every time I see her smile,
I can feel it flashing into my soul.
Every time I see her look at me,
My heart skips a beat.
Every time I hear her say my name,
I feel honored to even grace her presence.
Every time I see her frown,
I always try to turn it upside down.
Every time I see her cry,
I hold her in my arms and say 'everything's alright.'
Every time I see her cut herself,
I break down and cut myself too.
Every time she hugs me,
I feel as if the world isn't here.
Every time she grips me close to her,
I feel as if she's my protection from my own storm.
Every time she holds me close to her chest,
I hear her heartbeat;and it's the most amazing song I've ever heard.
Every time she sees my heart broken,
I know she's thinking about how she wants to fix it.
Every time she sees me cry,
I know she wipes the tears off my face.
Every time she sees me cut myself,
I know she'll cut herself too.
I love her a lot.
I really do.
But it's hard to know two facts.
The world didn't want us together.
And she wasn't even mine to begin with.
