Flowers Of Fate

Flowers Of Fate

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey
"

Read Authors note

"

Expressionless faces
Cast shadows of hatred
As they all stare down
At me
What has she done?
She has pulled the plug
Ending her own
Leaving others with no one
To hold
*
Look at her lay there
Pathetic at best
I tried to please them
Without any rest
I grew weary
I had to give in
I was a puppet
Who was set ablaze
Until the end
*
Mastery puppetry
He plays the game best
Grabbed me up
And swooped in
Killing me off
Using my own hand
Is he proud
Of where he stands?
*
The flowers of fate are changing
Turning from red to white
My dress is decaying
I’ve given up the fight
It’s best
I say
To myself
As I fade into the tree
Just leave me be
As I rest beneath the willow tree

Dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck that which is planted.
