Powerful message
His laughter sends
Iconic image
In his eyes love to stand
Positive outlook
The way that life should be
He looks at everything
With the wonders of being free
~*~
Useless babble
To no prevail
He knows what he wants
But refuses to tell
Watch as his crawls
Turn into sunsets
Who am I
To prolong it.
~*~
Motherhood is calling
A voice so sweet
I turned and looked
Then I answered it's plea
With one single word
The world is changing
For me
~*~
Never longing
Wouldn't change a thing
All of this happened
It was planned for me
The little lessons
His innocence sends
I will not be the one
To damage the threads
~*~
 Life's precious gift
To us was sent
Don't buy your time
Embrace it
From nothings to chatter
Time posess the power of growing old
~*~
Genuine appreciation
Attracted to the scene
He's my angel
God gave him to me

Author's Note

Alicia Hirshey
I wasn't going to write anything today. I was going to try to clear my head but out of nowhere my youngest son said mama for the first time. I was so overcome with the joy of it that I stopped everything I was doing, I was unable to be upset or sad. I was unable to feel unwanted because when I looked at him, he smiled and as he reached for me he said it again. My life isn't so bad. I remember now why I wanted to help people. Why I wanted to love people, and why most of all I wanted them to know that they are not alone and Matthew once again, showed me that with a single word. Thank you everybody that stood by me when things went down hill and when I lost track of who I was, thank you for the talks and the poems. You guys mean everything to me.

I really loved this, and reading it. It reminded me about how fast everyone grows up, and how time moves so fast for better or worse. It made me realize the beauty in youth and how we should cherish the things we're given. A beautiful and amazing poem. Thank you for putting this up. It must have been really emotional for your youngest son to call you mama. Also, I think we'll be there when you need advice or anything else. Loved this :)
