I wasn't going to write anything today. I was going to try to clear my head but out of nowhere my youngest son said mama for the first time. I was so overcome with the joy of it that I stopped everything I was doing, I was unable to be upset or sad. I was unable to feel unwanted because when I looked at him, he smiled and as he reached for me he said it again. My life isn't so bad. I remember now why I wanted to help people. Why I wanted to love people, and why most of all I wanted them to know that they are not alone and Matthew once again, showed me that with a single word. Thank you everybody that stood by me when things went down hill and when I lost track of who I was, thank you for the talks and the poems. You guys mean everything to me.

I hope that when Matthew is older, you show him the many poems you wrote for him. I think it would make him look up to you even more, to know that he helped is dear mommy get through hard times.
