Moral Decay

Moral Decay

Happiness in nothing
Forever isn't true
I am not perfection
I will never be you

Want to lead the perfect life
Teach others not to stray
How can that be so
When my heart is already decayed

Crying won't solve anything
Bring more pain to itself
Setting here isn't easy
Hidden away on a shelf

Friendships long forgotten
Stupid summer days
I kick myself every time
My mind starts to stray

My life is a hole
Nothing but black
No matter how hard I fight
I will never have it back

Everything should be easy
I save people from themselves
How much longer can I
When I'm in my own personal hell?

"What happened to her sunshine?"
I hear people say
Where would yours be
If your world was cracking away?

I'm sorry I can't answer
The questions you held dear
I'm losing my composure
There is more to me than appears.

Life is full of disappointments
I'm sorry I was one
I am not perfect
I was never a happy one

Hold on to nothing
Everything you hold dear
Will soon fade away
Then why will you come here?

I can't save you
I can't even save myself
I'm not perfect
I'm sorry I couldn't be somebody else

Ali. Your perfect the way you are, you should never want to be somebody else, cause only you can be you. And your amazing. I'm sorry it's hard for you to bring light into your life, but you bring light into myn. And I'll always be here if you ever need some light (:

I really enjoyed reading- thanks for posting this. I think it's a great poem, ad its something that so many of us struggle with. I agree with another one of the reviewers- this is real and relatable. Nice work!

I think it's fabulous. It's relatable, honest, and true. It's deep, and forces the feelings onto you. And when you have them, you pull it out and express it for them. Amazing work.

Regards,

Matthew

Sometimes life is roses and other days black clouds are all we can see. We carry on and keep marching until we see the sun again. Emotions well penned Sweet Ali.
