Jaded Dreams

Jaded Dreams

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey

Alone we walk along the sand
Jaded lovers
Hand in hand
Throwing pebbles
Skipping a few
Holding on at the scheme
Maybe this is more than a dream
~*~
Blonde headed curls
Mine straight and black
Together we mesh
Like love gone back
Time is wasted
Shortened the none
This walk together
In the evening sun
~*~
Earnest judgment
Can be placed
Knowing nothing of struggles to face
Hold on to nothing
I do believe
Darling, you were meant for me
~*~
Empty beds
And cigarette case
Strewn about
All over the place
Daytime pleasure
Nighttime bliss
Who wouldn’t let it come to this?
