![]() Peacefully HiddenA Poem by Alicia Hirshey![]() Walking gracefully Failing to make a scene Heartfelt lies leaving me Not once comparing The sadness on ones face Judging so quickly I was worse off anyways Little girl Her parents never cared They didn’t want her They left her there Everyday is a struggle To fend for herself She didn’t choose this She had nobody else Younger boy In his teens Black hair dye Eye liner scheme Inside his mind He is wanting to die You would never once notice Do you look in his eyes Poet to some To most she’s a geek Dreaming a dream Within a dream She’ll never be anything more Nothing she writes will anyone adore Falling apart Tangled in this web Full of hatred Her only way of harnessing it Mother of two Pregnant teen No less of a person A w***e she must seem Pointing fingers The stop and stare “what a life, Your w***e-ish ways have taken you there” If only they knew This wasn’t true There is more to her Than me or you Twenty years old He’s made his plea Running from something Fighting to flea Hiding images He forged in his head What would he have done If he were his friends Endless confusion Tied into this knot Holding on to something That must be taught So many stories Eyes love to tell Hold them back Your heart starts to wail Let it in time Be written on your face Let others know Who owns your day You are not you If your running away Stand up and fight It will all fade away Hiding stories Most become truth Spiders spin webs To hide them from you Look at me now Do you see who I am Or do you see What is hiding within © 2011 Alicia HirsheyAuthor's Note
