Like YouA Poem by Alicia Hirshey“I
really haven't had that exciting of a life. There are a lot of things I
wish I would have done, instead of just sitting around and complaining
about having a boring life. So I pretty much like to make it up. I'd
rather tell a story about somebody else.”-Kurt Cobain
Stillness of the night Nothing proves to be alright In your arms I am held dear But in your heart Your intentions are different I fear. ~*~ Falling apart Losing touch with my soul Giving in To darkness, untold Evil nightmares Play in my head Making me wonder How I am not dead. ~*~ Endless longing To be like you Hold nothing dear Continue to move Broken to the core Shattered remnants Of a girl once knew ~*~ Devotion to nothing Who is to say There isn’t something greater out to play Endless tidings Taking lives Judging by a cover But have you ever been there ~*~ Beautiful creature In more ways than one I want to be like you Hold my day in the sun Giving up on love Losing faith in friends Won’t be much longer Until today will end. ~*~ Perfection is madness Madness is you Teaching me to long To become something true Leading by hope Where do I stand Left in this shattered wasteland ~*~ Stillness of the night Nothing proves to be alright In your arms I am held dear But in your heart Your intentions are different I fear. © 2011 Alicia HirsheyAuthor's Note
