Shattered Betrayal

Shattered Betrayal

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey
"

Written for Naomi the lost ninja

"
“One should rather die than be betrayed. There is no deceit in death. It delivers precisely what it has promised. Betrayal, though ... betrayal is the willful slaughter of hope.”
~*~
Amazing girl
Wonderful race
Trading time
To keep herself in place
“he used me once”
Her world is falling apart
Nothing can stop it
It’s bleeding inside of her heart.
~*~
Hopeful belonging
She wants to be with you
You ran with her trust
All that’s left
Is an empty shell of you
She longs for something more
Way better of a life
Endlessly hoping
Everything will turn out alright.
~*~
He never liked her
She is convinced
He just used her
He never cared that she flinched
Forgiving him is hard
She doesn’t know if she has the strength
All that matters
Is that she makes it through the day
~*~
Convinced it was her
That she did everything wrong
She wasn’t good enough
She was never as good as her
Her life consumes her
With her thoughts she wants to die
If only she knew
She is a shining light
~*~
Young lady
I assure you
None of this is your fault
It was a mistake
You are not at fault
There has to be feelings
Or else would he be here
There must be remorse
Otherwise
This would have never been shared
~*~
How much must you love him
For the wounds to bleed
Let it out
On your page
Don’t give in to the disease
Your beautiful
In loves shining light
So full of life
You have the will to survive
~*~
I know it hurts
It’s part of the truth
Call him if you miss him
He is surely waiting on you
Laughter of joy
Love’s embrace
Don’t give up
If you love him
You mustn’t throw him away.
~*~
What was done was wrong
I will not place the blame
This will make you stronger
In more than one way
Know that you are loved
From miles around
You have friends that are here
No matter how badly you fall down
~*~
Do not faultier
Keep your faith
Hope is amazing
Love will give you wings
You are beautiful
In your smile a story shines
Keep your heart safe
Refuse to give up and die
~*~
Amazing girl
Wonderful race
Trading time
To keep herself in place
“he used me once”
Her world is falling apart
Nothing can stop it
It’s bleeding inside of her heart.

-Naomi, Know that no matter what. People love you. Things may seem bad but they will get better. I promise you. Forgiveness is hard, but holding on to hurt is even harder. Stay strong and follow your heart.

This is the first poem of yours that I've read and I love it. You take common subjects and elaborate on them. Going on for verses and verses you use such beautiful and descriptive words and capture your reader. You are an amazing poet. I'd say you are as good as Courtney Moise. You and her are both amazing poets and I'm excited to read more of you amazing work.

very heartfelt and touching. So many people like this in the world. They forget that its not their fault. That they cannot be responsible for the stupidity of other people....very good poem

This is very beautiful, and expresses so much pain but still somehow...seems to be hopeful. Very well done.
