Silas' Song

Silas' Song

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey

"If I had just one wish, it would be for a stairway that reached up to Heaven so I could bring you home."- A beautifully,Strong Friend, FelishaBrown

Baby boy

Silas

Handsome in blue

Everyday I spend knowing

What those doctors did to you.

*

Mommy

It’s hard

But they aren’t to blame

A greater calling

Is why it’s this way.

*

Fighting back tears

My pain won’t subside

Everyday

I struggle to survive

*

I know it hurts

It kills you inside

But its okay, mommy

I know how to fly.

*

Bury a parent

Before you bury your kids

If that is so

How did it come to this?

*

Jesus has plans

That you will soon see

Mommy it wasn’t you

He needed me.

*

Heavenly angels

Look down here and cry

Never losing touch

To the part of you I carry inside

*

Hold me close to your heart

I will never stray

Keep me with you

Each and every day

*

Little Silas

Never replaced

You’re my baby boy

You should be here

Alive with me

Instead your gone

Those doctors took you from me.

*

Mommy

It’s hard

But they aren’t to blame

A greater calling

Is why it’s this way.

*

I’m losing sleep

Each day is a fight

I just don’t know

How you expect me to survive

*

It’s a struggle its true

But mommy

Jesus never meant

To cause this to you

*

Baby boy

Silas

Handsome in blue

Everyday I spend knowing

What those doctors did to you.

:'( what a awful thing to happen. and your right, nothing can ever take away the pain, but i think really shows how much you care. and people caring for us and being there for us is what makes the pain easier to get through.

So touching. I can't imagine what it's like to lose a child. 3 years ago, my best friend and his younger sister were killed in a car accident with their mom, but their mom lived. She has no other kids. She's has changed immensely, and people don't even look at her the same. It's a sad thing.

This is just one example of many of the heart you have so pure and beating with life inside. It was beautiful in this rhyme woven and she will treasure it to get her through the days, I'm sure of it.
