California DreamA Poem by Alicia HirsheyWhimsical fairytale Sounds of the surf Never once wondering What is beneath the turf Playing on surfboards Laying in the sand Beautiful wonderland
Lying in bed Crying tears in my sleep Wanting one last chance For the tide to wash me clean Longing for loved ones Fries at the pier One last boat ride Memories fail To take me there.
Him and is long board Sun bleached hair Nobody could compare Beauty magnified Teaching to love Save me from myself With one velvety touch
Discovering who I was But not who I now am Longing for that wonderland Firework display Tide threatened night Beautiful display Teaming with life
Memories decay Everything fades Nothing stays the same But my dreams take me there
California waiting But nothing is changing Just dreams That god has put me there. © 2011 Alicia HirsheyAuthor's Note
