Glimpse Of My Soul

Glimpse Of My Soul

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey

So many nights,
I've wanted to come home.
So many days,
I've wished for somewhere to go.
So many times,
I've ran these memories across my heart,
Thinking it was better,
A safe way to run away.
The pain I attempted to hide,
Is now slowly building up inside.
The yelling in my head,
Won't come to an end,
And I've forgotten I even exist.
I've become so numb,
Pushing away everyone I love.
Hiding my soul,
So nobody knows.
Hoping it's safe,
As long as everyone stays away,
Letting no one in,
Is this how my story is to begin?

Author's Note

Alicia Hirshey
there is a time, when what you thought was right was wrong. When the person you left is the one for you. Sometimes it's to late. And no matter how many changes you make, the drift further away.
