Now's Your Chance

Now's Your Chance

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey

Find your voice,
Life is a choice,
Will you honestly just throw it away?
Lock up your tears,
Fight back the hate,
Start life all over,
Today is a new day.
Your life is a gift,
Do not dismiss,
Who you are ment to be.
Take a stand,
For what you believe,
The glories are grand.
Raise your voice,
It will not kill you,
You made the choice.
Who you are was no mistake.
Turn your back,
On all the pain.
Smile back,
The world will finally know
What you believe in.

I love it! Be The Voice is such an amazing thing you and Robin are doing. People really are the only way a difference will ever be made, and more people need to find their voice.

"We are only asked to love, to offer hope to the many hopeless. We don't get to choose all the endings, but we are asked to play the rescuers. We won't solve all mysteries and our hearts will certainly break in such a vulnerable life, but it is the best way. We were made to be lovers bold in broken places, pouring ourselves out again and again until we're called home." ~Jamie Tworkowski, To Write Love On Her Arms

A quote that really suits the poem, I think. The only reason we're put on earth, i believe, is to change something. And it's your decision whether you change the world in a good way or in a bad way. Those who make bad decisions, they end up being the ones who need saving and hep. Weird how that works, isn't it?

In other words, altogether a very touching poem with great flow, patterns and lovely rhymes. A great read that will be going in my favorites so I can look back on it someday. Good job Ali
