Sister Dear

Sister Dear

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey

Younger sister,
A beautiful face,
Beautiful but lined with disgrace.
She has taken my place.
A free spirit,
She knows no boundries.
A beautiful mess,
Yet she's the only one who doesn't see,
That she is turning out,
Just like me.
Hiding behind fake smiles,
Her scars no longer have traces,
she hides it in fear,
You'd never know her pain.
Nobody knows,
That she is drowning in dispair.
Younger sister,
Do not hide your face,
You are beautiful and unique.
You've changed the world,
With a kiss on it's cheek.
Always beautiful,
Always there,
No longer hiding in dispair.
She can face the world,
Arms in the air.
Just one hug,
Makes her smile complete.

This is inspiring Ali. Too many do not have this love for their siblings. Have you shared this with her?
