Dear Mr. PresidentA Poem by Alicia HirsheyIt is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you." ~Author unknown, sometimes attributed to M.GrundlerTake their homes, Take their money. These people are heroes, No one finds this funny. You run around, With nice fancy things. A brand new home. Let’s see you survive over there. These people are dying, Protecting you and me. This is how you repay them? By ignoring their needs. I hate to say it, But freedom isn’t free. They didn’t have to join. Fighting is a way of life. Why should you stand by While these men and women die? Take their homes, Take their glory. Take their money, This isn’t funny. Fighting for what they believe. Protecting you and me. No matter how you see it. Freedom isn’t free. © 2011 Alicia HirsheyAuthor's Note
