Squash the Conflict

Squash the Conflict

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey

Angry words,
Savage slander.
All this pain,
Won’t be here after.
Starting over,
Smashing conflict.
Playing with fate,
Starting new today.
Forgiving your imperfections,
As you forgave mine.
Letting it slip from me,
Easing the pain with time.
Apologizing,
To all who I’ve caused pain,
Giving up,
Refusing to play the game.
Happiness isn’t given,
You have to earn to feel.
Respect isn’t easy,
But it’s part of the pact.
Learning from my mistakes.
Growing up,
A little more everyday.
Enemies are forgotten,
Friendships can be formed.
Everyday gets easier,
My world doesn’t seem so grey.
With this simple Revelation,
A new transformation is taking place.
A brand new me,
Was born from the flames.
It’s a never ending cycle,
Will you just throw your chance away?
Growing older with every second,
Learning from my mistakes.
Learning to live all over,
With each passing day.
