Tear Struck

Tear Struck

A Poem by BeautifulyImperfect

As I sit here thinking to myself
Tears slowly start to fall
I have myself believing that everything will be just fine
But deep down inside I know they aren't

I do everything to stop my tears
Eyeliner smeared, heart broken
Yet all I can do is laugh and smile
I know that deep down I am hurt

I am just going to put up a front
Make myself smile
Forget the pain
Cry when I'm alone
Keep the tears for healing time

My love for you still lives
This is true
But you make me feel so blue
From this experience
I will only grow stronger, smarter
I will find someone better for me
Better than you ever were

Sounds like you had your heart broken a few times. Thanks for sharing these old poems. I also read the one you wrote when you were 15 and it looks like you learned a lot in a year. This poem includes a small message of hope that the other one didn't have.

I wish I wrote when I was younger; it must be fun to revisit old stuff.
