My fiance and I wrote this together. He wrote a line or two then I did. It is a piece very close to my heart. I put it on here the original way it was written with no changes.

 Fluttering eyes opening to the sun

life finished or life begun

What was once darkness is now light

like the sunrise after the night

My mouth a chasm, a gaping hole

leaking out the key to my very soul

My heart now open for my love to see

 it was once locked but she has the key.

The key to my being, all I am

love is my lion and I bow as the lamb

 Some are too scared to be this free,

most won't understand what we have just you and me.

 For this reason a man will leave his household

to make once was two a complete whole

Both will begin this journey hand in hand,

 to what seems like a distant and foreign land.

But this land stands worth the while

a journey treacherous but worth every mile

 For this journey is set before them to prove their love,

 to see if it prevails when push comes to shove.

When the road narrows and lingers without curve

when great valleys and darkness test their nerve

To come out of the valley and ouT of the night,

 victory is theirs as the sun shines its light.

Proving two is not better than one after all

love and devotion allowing them to finally stand tall
