The StormA Poem by BeautifulmaddnessThe wind blows As anticipation grows The air’s heavy weight is on my skin Here it comes once again The commanding sound of thunder booms An impending darkness above me looms From my high perch I gaze out A storm’s on the horizon no doubt I stand and watch animals run The darkness of wrathful clouds has hidden the sun The humbling wind bends the trees Mocking their cockiness by knocking them to their knees Crashing waves ambush the shore Taking land where it’s never gone before Drops fall like missiles from a broken sky By mighty bolts the heavens and earth tie Heaven unleashes mighty strikes Covering the earth with humbling sights Trees fall with powerful crashes Upon all of earth, heaven lashes Everything acknowledges its powers It seems this war lasts for hours But just as quickly as it has begun Suddenly, once again, it is done But don’t delight in happiness my friend For soon this war will wage again © 2012 BeautifulmaddnessReviews
