Dragons

Dragons

A Poem by Beautifully Tragic xPoetry Queen

Seen with such malice

And cruelty,

Mystical creatures

Soaring the skies of imagination.

Noble, yet monstorous

With the strength and fiery breath of air

Destroying everything in their path

In a flash of flames and ash.

Kings. Emperors.

Masters of the sky.

Flying gracefully,

Above all humankind.

Celestial serpeants,

Of our spiritual minds.

Impairing doom upon all

That has done him wrong.

I like this piece for the third stanza, the way you focus on the alienation from humanity as a possible motive for such malice. Suddenly, the mythical beasts become less evil and more misunderstood, it adds a nice Romantic touch. Great work.

the self-consuming rage that burns all in sight - the doom on all who has done him wrong - trouble is when they believe everyone has - I don't imagine Dragons to be the most caring about what they destroy ha - and that's how I expand this metaphor to people - an innate destructive quality - I like! nice!

Not much to do against a dragon - makes you wonder how it is they're all gone.. :P
Always had a thing for mythical creatures, but I guess there's a reason they're too good (or bad) to be true.
Sigh..
