Dear Santa

I've been pretty angry over the last week or so about things I've been hearing in the news when the holidays are so close upon us.

Dear Santa,

Its been awhile

Since we last spoke

Back when I was young

 

Those days are coming soon again

When you'll be riding through the sky

Delivering gifts for all the children

With your reindeer and your sleigh.

 

I once asked for some gifts at my young age,

Now I've grown older and still believe

There's just one thing I want this Christmas

And it's nothing that you can bring.

 

What I really want this Christmas,

Is really just one wish

To end the greed and misery in the world

Thats been spreading these last few years.

 

So much government corruption,

When all we really need is some truth

To end this worldly depression and suffering

And keep loved ones safe and at home.

 

People lost in stupidity

Driving drunk after parties on the road

Never knowing they can take some innocent life

A working man going to his family at home.

 

Even children are falling victims

To some stupid and heinous crimes

When they deserve to have gifts this holiday

Instead of lying in graves underground.

 

It seems to me in all this insanity

The world keeps falling apart.

But all I ask for this one Christmas,

Is give everyone in this world a heart.

How I wish they could justify their actions with ignorance or even stupidity, but unfortunately it's not the case. Those careless drivers are one of the many reasons I'm glad I don't have to drive anymore - I really hated being a part of this game, in which everyone loses. If one wishes to play russian roulette with their life, let him do so, but putting other people at risk is beyond reckless.
