WOW! I was just caught up in this. Yes, there was scandel and under ground stuff going on, but it was a time of real stars. You mentioned Audrey Hepburn, and Marilyn..they would make todays actresses look like Barbie Dolls. I loved this piece because you made me feel the glitz, and glamour of another time..that's gone forever. Who could match Marilyns aura ? " I wanna go back, but I can't go back..I know " Loved this.

rayne, this is a touching poem, loved it. classic, desirously creative meaning sets the reader's imagination
in reminiscing flight, to yearn for the golden era, a time where Hollywood's shooting stars magically
lit the skies of the world with original charm and new wonder, innocence captured in black and white.
is transporting, one feels the transposing effects of watching the lively wonder unfold before the eyes,
emotionally enhanced, passionate tribute, draws conviction, pondering the era gone, but never forgotten.
skillfully rendered, subtly vivid, there is a peaceful, graceful flow, dreamy form, strikingly picturesque.
I loved reading this and thinking about the days of old when people were people and stars always remembered where they came from. Yes they had a good life but they seemed to always remain humble and thankful to those that admired and adored them. I think that is the difference with the stars of today. They now think they are untouchable and can get away with anything they damn will please. I thank you for reminding life was not always about what star is do what now.
This is wonderful, especially the way you catch the glitz and quiet glamour of the day. I think there was a bit more decorum back then, not that there wasn't scandal, but it wasn't 'in your face" the way it is now with the paprazzi.
I'm afraid I'm old enough that I remember looking at the old "Movie Time" magazines of of my momma's back when I was a kid in the late 60's and being completely enamored of the beauty of Elizabeth Taylor and Sandra Dee.
I think the main difference between the old days and today is that it's all televised and broadcasted, leaving nothing to the imagination.
The age of purity has long gone from our screens, and with it the grasp of what good acting really is, as people focus on what's around it.
It's a known fact that past actor/actresses were involved in scandals as big as the ones today are, but I think if you'd have shone a light (and a camera) on everything they used to do, it would have affected their work as well, and perhaps people would have been drawn to lesser actors/actresses just for the major scoops.
I would hate to imagine what would have become of the golden age if that would have happened.
I do like the write, and the way it takes us back to better times.
I could really see it all (in black and white, of course :)).
Awakens the deep beauty of the past in such a quite, sacred way. Such a richness in your description and vibrance that makes me wonder as well about the golden days... Absolutely brilliant!!!
