Goodbye Darling

Goodbye Darling

Dear darling,
my love for you shall never cease.
Now that you've left my side I have to rest in peace.
Life is hard when you're living without someone who cares.
When we parted ways I fell into disrepair.
The despair I feel is too much for me to take.
I plan to drive my car into the nearest lake.
Drowning literally is way better than drowning in sorrow.
Please remember our good times because I'll be dead tomorrow.
I think of you and there's so much that I miss.
I only wish I could've gotten one final kiss.
But life's a b***h up until the day you die.
So I wrote this letter just to say goodbye.

Dear darling,

I received your letter yesterday

Yet all my tears for you no longer stay

Though I wish you were here with me

My heart bleeds for you and aches to be free

I entrapped my heart in barbwire for someone new

No one else in this world for me, except you

When you drove your car in to the lake

My heart drowned with you, I felt so much ache

Every night I stop and stare in the heavens above

Wishing you were by my side, giving me all your love

The stars in the midnight sky are sparkling

So I wish you a goodnight, my goodbye darling

Such a powerfully sad piece, Rayne. I'm enchanted by the mystery...the sense of
timelessness...the overwhelming sense of goodbye.. Really a wonderful piece,
my friend.

A sad tale on both sides. Well written and full of emotional trauma. I'm just sorry no one was there to fetch her from the lake! Nice collaboration both of you!

Tragic romance at it's finest. Nice work to the both of you. I liked that the responder has decided to go on with her (his?) life, even though she knows that the pain will be constant. It's a turn that one rarely sees in this genre.
