Perse

Perse

A Poem by Beautifully Tragic xPoetry Queen
"

This could be some haunting tale if you are not familiar with Stephen King's Duma Key. Perse is a ship that haunts the island of Duma Key.

"

Thunderous storms,

Roar through the midnight skies

Off in the horizon,

She comes, listen to her cries

Collecting souls

To join her crew

Don’t go into the water,

Or she’ll come after you

Souls and skeletons

Roam the decks

Haunting the islands

With her royal subjects

As the lightning strikes,

And the thunder roars

Perse will be watching,

Knocking at your door.

Interesting imagery that you used in the poem. Painting a picture with a few words, which creating a graphic image in my mind. Cross between an old pirate and film niore movies. Not much of a Stephen King fan, but if Duma Key is like your poem, it may change. Thank you for sharing this poem with us.

Nice tribute.
Had a flashback from watching old pirate films, with haunted ships and a treasure hidden on an island no one dares near.
Great work.
