Irish Isle

Irish Isle

A Poem by Beautifully Tragic xPoetry Queen
"

My attempt at Irish poetry - mixed with a little fantasy - I've been working on this for days...ehh

"

Over the misty lavender horizon

And the land is emerald green

Take me away to Irish Isle

A glorious, magical scene

Dazzling azure blue

The diamond tinted skies

In the Stonehenge - they dance

Around the fire, witches ritual cries

Faeries play freely

In the moonlit night

While dragons soar

Through the clouds in flight

Ghosts of kings haunt the land

With the victims of those in war

Fighting for death and blood

Hear their cries for more

Beautiful Irish Isle

Dressed in gems of jade

Mystical fantasies wander

In the land of masquerade

I'm actually a descendant of an Irish king. =)

Also a outlaw that was hung... but that's not so important.

It really does remind me of an old irish song.
Could use a touch of irish slang, but great nevertheless.
Definitely poured whiskey into my jar. :)

I do enjoy this poem... it not only defines the beauty that we know is Ireland, but it is getting me ready for St. Patrick's Day... Time to buy a 6 of Guinness. LOL Really lovely work. It made me smile... also I think that's cool ... I just love genealogy as well. I think that is cool... Descent from royalty rocks. LOL

Really good. Full of beautiful imagery and Irish 'others'-also, I love that you've spelled it "faeries", it adds a really nice touch to the theme of the piece. A wonderful tribute to a land full of history and tales.
The first stanza really does draw you in.
