Arabian Nights Romance

Arabian Nights Romance

A Poem by Beautifully Tragic xPoetry Queen
"

Apparently Yuval and I are in collaboration mode today lol. This one done a little differently then our last one.

"

Underneath the moon

Of this Arabian night

With you, my dark sultan

My heart has taken flight

As we ride side-by-side
Around nothing but sand
Two souls become one
As you're holding my hand

The sweet scent of jasmine

Fills the desert air

With sand like velvet

One romantic affair

The hills up ahead
Getting closer and closer
When I look in your eyes
My hearts' journey is over

Our love, almost ancient

Like the waters of the Nile

Even the pyramids know

Every moment is worthwhile

You'll be the first and last
The big love of my life
As beyond the night's mist
I see my favorite wife

You rein king of my heart

My love with raven mane

The dark sultan of my desires

And I, your Scheherazade

Behind every great man

A great woman you'll find

My heart belongs to you

Desert flower of mine

Rayne, this is beautifully done, hon. You would never know that two of you wrote the same poem. The flow is exquisite and the content is beautiful. I really can't say enough about Yuval and your effort on the collaboration. This is the BEST I have read of one in this variety...GREAT job!

i really loved this piece, it really sings to the heart, and captures timeless imagery,
the romance speaks on many level with metaphoric beauty of love, and really
leaves the readers heart in such a state of yearning, craving the same type of
portrait adoration, i really enjoyed reading the endearing sentiments, very
impressive, dreamy, enchanting, sweet and eternally envisioned, a real masterpiece, mike

What a wonderful collaboration. This is so great...you two should keep working together, it's a nice play off each other. A stunning piece...the imagery took me there and held me captive to the sweet ending. Lovely!!!!

You reminded me of one of my favorite poems by Bayard Taylor . . .
FROM the Desert I come to thee
On a stallion shod with fire;
And the winds are left behind
In the speed of my desire.
Under thy window I stand,
And the midnight hears my cry:
I love thee, I love but thee,
With a love that shall not die
Till the sun grows cold,
And the stars are old,
And the leaves of the Judgement
Book unfold! . . .

Great job! It's a lovely collaboration.
