The Rose

Whew.... thought i lost this.

Born to blossom ...

As the seasons change

Growing more fragile

As the days pass her by

 

She tries to grow stronger

As whipping winds thrash her

The thorns of her society

But never giving up hope

 

Bloom to perish...

Her season starts to change

Strong but fragile

She slowly wilts away

This is such a sad poem. I expected the rose to blossom and flourish and instead it wilted away, but isn't that true of so many things -- we want the fairy tale ending rather than what really is. This is a fantastic poem! It seems to depict life beating us into submission... or perhaps I'm reading more into it than there is. Either way, you did an excellent job! I really enjoyed it :)
