All I wanted

Can you one day tell me that you love me; when you're ready of course. I can understand it's hard to tell a girl you love her, cause you then think that they'll hurt you or think you're not good enough for them, but how do you think we fill. WE HAVE TO DRESS UP FOR YOU AND HAVE THE PERFECT AND SEXY BODY YOU WANT!! But then you push us away as far as you can when you see something of us you don't like, but we try and try and try and try again and again to make you love us for us! It never works,  but I wanted you to know all I wanted was you.

This is a moving expression of some very deep emotions and thoughts. This poem is rather heartrending in its honesty and vulnerability. The first and final sentences are the most powerful to me - the contrast between being valued for looks are other superficial things versus "all I wanted was you" is particularly effective. I sincerely hope and pray that one day you will find the one who appreciates you for YOU, not for how you look. Hang in there! Wonderful and relatable poem!
