The Red Balloon.

The Red Balloon.

A Poem by Jennifer Ellen
"

Class assignment was to watch The Red Balloon and write a responce. (For those who dont know what the movie is, the description is in the notes for reveiwers.) :D

"

Child chasing his dreams,

-Chasing the streets,

He holds onto something tight,

-never letting go with all his might,

Have you ever seen a kid so determined?

            -To keep something unforgotten?

This boy knows only joy,

-Given to him by a toy,

This red balloon,

-is all the kid needs to shoot for the moon,

It follows him to no end,

-and its simply his best friend.

A simple Red Balloon.

When all is lost,

            -and the threads are crossed,

They killed his soul,

-with the balloon’s life they stole,

But what they didn’t know,

            -was what would follow,

All the colors that came out of the sky,

-And lifted the boy so high,

Giving him so much joy,

-All because he lost his toy,

A simple red balloon.

Story line of the movie: A boy makes friends with a seemingly sentient balloon, and it begins to follow him. It follows everywhere. Boy and balloon play together in the streets of Paris and try to elude a gang of boys that wants to destroy the balloon. Winner of the Best Original Screenplay Oscar, and there is almost no dialog spoken in the film.

I can feel the strong emotion in this poem. It's perfect for the theme of the balloon and the boy. It has a deeper meaning to is also but I'm not exactly sure what....

Very nice.

I am a beautifully broken poet. I wonder why the world has so much hate in it. I hear my heart beat loud as I look at what’s to come in my life. I see the words from my heart flow out and ont.. more..
