Tiny Key.A Poem by Jennifer Ellen
You look me in the eye,
But yet you lie, Straight to my face, About what could, Should, Would, Have been, But yet, To cry tears of fury, To spill the blood of the innocent, You’ve taken my tears, Left from fury, Taken my blood, Though I am innocent, You locked me away, In a tower, Hidden from the world, Collecting my tears, Tears from what you have done to me, Collecting my blood, From that rusty razor, That lies ever so close to my side, The razor is my escape, My freedom, Well that’s what it seems to be, You locked the door, With that tiny key around your neck, Such a tiny key to hold back, A tiny fragile girl, The key matched the girls beauty, Tiny but beautiful, The rusty razor, Given to her by that guy, He’s a Demon, Bent on her destruction, Though he shall succeed For he has the tiny key, The lock, So fragile, Almost about to break, If you touch it, It crumbles, So how does she get out of this tower, Hidden, Alone, If the lock crumbles, And the key is around the Demons neck, All I can do is jump, So I stand on the window sill, So high up, This is the only way to get away, From this Demon, So I take this last step, This last breath, And fall…. © 2010 Jennifer EllenReviews
