A Stage Play by Kinley Lowe
"

A monologue about a gay teenage girl who has fallen in love with a strait girl. She, Spencer, has decided to tell the girl, Jamie, how she really feels.

"
Spencer-
Hey Jamie... We need to talk. You are my best friend, my confidant. you mean everything to me, and i would die if i lost you. {a pause, while Spencer thinks} this is so hard for me, but I'm just going to say it. I love you. Not like a friend, more than that. Since day one. I remember the day we met.
It was a warm September evening, and I was walking by the park. Hands in my pockets, head down, I kicked a pebble away as hard as i could. i listened to it roll away as i sat down on a bench, head in my hands, close to tears. Besieged in my own depression, i didn't notice that
A) the pebble had stopped rolling,
B) a girl was standing in front of me
C) the girl was you.
I looked up and gazed into your huge, blue and green swirled eyes; they looked like an ocean i could get lost in forever. i would get lost in your eyes if i could. You stared at me- through me- and said, "This thing yours?"
I took it, and played with it in my hands. I scanned the rock and glanced back at you. i threw it across the street. I looked down, expecting you to leave. Instead, you, a total stranger, sat down next to me and put your arms around me. You said, "I'm Jamie, and I saw you from my bedroom window crying down here. I couldn't just watch you be upset."
We sat on that bench for two hours. It turns out, we had a lot in common. I couldn't stop thinking about you after that, Jamie. Your laugh, your smile, every little detail about you. You make me so happy. And the worst part is knowing you will never feel the same way about me. You are out of my reach, and there is no mountain high enough for me to climb for me to get to where you are.

This is so cute! It's really emotional at the end...poor Spencer:( you've really related with the character and done a good job getting key points across in quite a short piece. You've obviously thought about it a lot so it's great that readers can sense you care. Well done:) enjoyable read overall...
