BalanceA Poem by ElephantAnother poem to beat the darknessTired, weary, broken and scattered; the world a blur, time a merge as the days collide into one. Aching and throbbing, burning, stinging; never-ending, demanding, life-altering pain. Disbelief, negativity, frustration and blame; from those around who are prescript to help. Like running around in circles, over and over, as they enforce their power of authority to demand that nothing is wrong. A burden, a freak, quiet and insignificant; as they take more and more from you, draining you of every lasting hope, changing, manipulating you into the weak. To stand tall, look ahead, press forward and never show, the greatest of discomfort and deepest of dread. To try not to fall, as we stand tall; forced to balance on the instability of our lives. For we are not seen, for we are as invisible as our illnesses may seem; life in the shadows, as others move on, a train so fast in prospect, we remain so still, a distant being in a fast pace world. © 2018 ElephantAuthor's Note
