I heard you-

I heard you-

A Poem by Beatrice Mars

   I heard you

Whisper,

Under this

Shroud of

Wet heat,

Dream delirium

Clutch

To the edges,
Scrabble for your sanity

Before you realise -

I woke,

Pushed,

'Till I broke through

To the

Cool,

Burning air -

But starting to drown,

I reached for you -

Yet, you were forever

Floating, (away) I could-

'Not like this is real'

You carelessly flung out,

I was confused,

'What's not -'

Real(a): true; not merely ostensible, nominal, or apparent -

Red sunlight through eyelids.

I hear the smile

In your whisper,

As you tell me Hang

On tight,

Remind me that

THIS

Is reality,

But-
