Like Light Through Leaves.

Like Light Through Leaves.

A Poem by Beatrice Mars

I can't help but think you're talking about me.
I wish you wouldn't.

Your words are full of

Half smiles

And

Yesterday,

Bleary eyes

And

Long sad looks.

Your words are
Cold,

Like winter wind and

Like in hazy grass plains,

Your words blow in the

Breeze, like wild flowers.

Your words, like

Sun dappled light

Through high

Green leaves,

Pass over, around me,

But never warm me.

Your words don't

Comfort me,

They're not real.

I wish you'd laugh

Again,

Your laugh is

Full of

Tomorrow,

The sun in

Empty, bright blue skies.

Your laugh breaks

Through the leaves

And warms my tears.
