Hitting Buttons

Hitting Buttons

A Poem by Beatrice Mars

Hitting buttons

Flicking through

(This monotonous life)

Pages,

Remembering the you

In faded photographs

Of memories that don't

Quite ring true.

Photographs of someone

I never knew.

Someone I don't think

I know.

I'm losing you (them)

Even though you're

Standing right

Beside me.

You're standing right

Beside me,

You're fading fast,

I don't know you anymore.

And I don't care.

oooft. see you're a bloody liar. The stuff you write IS (very very) good! can so relate to this. I guess most people can.

'Remembering the you
In faded photographs
Of memories that don't
Quite ring true.'

I love this. reminds me of a lecture we had about photography and how it's all a lie (okay that wasn't the point of the lecture but that was the bit i remember) and we use it to document our lives but it's absolute bollocks. What you see in the picture is nothing like the truth. And it warps the way you remember events and people...

... sorry for the mini rant. love this.
