Lava Lamp

Lava Lamp

A Poem by Beatrice Mars

I am a lava lamp,

Floating.

I am bite holes in a cactus,

Failing.

I am a drunken first time,

Fumbling.

I am a song with a

Heavy beat and light

Reflected in your eyes.

I am bored,

I am snow, with all it's connotations.

I'm trying to work things out

And I'm trying to

Show you that

I love you.

I am a bubble,

Floating my way to you.

I am (pretentious) a gangster teen, too good for this,

Failing.

I am (distracted) fumbling,

trying to say,

I love you.
