Colours of Your Heart

Colours of Your Heart

A Poem by Beatrice Mars

That's not the colour

Of your heart,

Obivously,

They were just the colours

I had available,

I'm sorry I painted

Your heart black.

(And shades of blue and purple.)

Your heart

Is red (and pink

And lilac

And all colours

Pertaining to love)

But, although overflowing

(With love and joy and

Happiness and the like)

It bleeds as hard as it pumps,

I don't think it's going to

Hold out much longer

While the first part seems more on the bitter part, the last stanza suddenly turned morbid. It sort of threw me off guard. You play with colors and imagery quite so well in this poem. Great piece.

Keep Writing. ^___^

Sometimes you make me forget to breathe.

'I'm sorry I painted
Your heart black.'

'It bleeds as hard as it pumps,
I don't think it's going to
Hold out much longer'

You're brilliant.
