Kiss the RainA Poem by Beatrice MarsI didn't notice the sun Start to leave. (Shrugging on her coat and Slinking away) So this lingering light Is amazingly terrifying Especially considering I've got my headphones on And can't hear (Her forewarning) The thunder.
This storm is (Punishing) everlasting, Ever since that man with The boat (Listened)
I've been so scared.
I turn the music up Because the rain is getting Louder. I start to drift off, Blinking lights remind Me I'm alive.
When I wake the Sun is back. (But she is sheepish, Hiding behind dark clouds)
I wait Six days and Six nights, I know we did something wrong.
Sometimes, when the rain Is light, I climb up high, Watch as (It is amazingly terrifying) And ask questions that Don't get answered.
I worship the sun now, Bless every morning She appears. And every night, I hide from the man in the moon And cower when his Light dances on water.
I did something wrong, So when the water reaches me I'll worship the sun And kiss the rain. © 2010 Beatrice MarsAuthor's Note
