Chocolate

Chocolate

A Poem by Beatrice Mars
"

Love is like sweet stuff

"

Eating chocolate,

I've come to realise,

Is somewhat like

Our 'relationship'.

Savouring nibbles,

Tentative flirting,

Smiling at you from

Across the class room.

A whole chunk,

You asked me out,

Another,

Our first date.

(You brought me chocolates!)

Stuffing bar after bar,

Our first time,

Gorging myself on you.

Rinsing my mouth out, because

I feel sick,

Rebound dating.

Going back for more,

You're addictive.

Those last few chunks,

Just in case.

Great analogy. For a chocolate lover like myself, I can readily feel the intensity of your piece. It seems almost childish to compare love with such addiction but for someone like me who understands the seriousness of such cravings, I really can relate with this poem.

Keep Writing. ^___^
