Hollywood Tears

Hollywood Tears

A Poem by Beatrice Mars

These Hollywood tears

Are not for you.

(Although this is

All your fault,

You just couldn't see the

Bigger picture)

These tears are not for

Dying children

Or the families of

Dead soldiers

(Although how can you not

Feel sorry for them)

No

These glycerine tears

are for me

(I'm going to be selfish,

And why shouldn't I be?

I'm a good person.

Mostly.)

I've endured

This long winter

With everyone else

(Although, They can just get on with it,

I can't)

I'd like to cry,

Without having to worry

About my

Bad hair or

Blotchy Skin.

But,

I've had my curtain call,

They need my smile.
